Things are lining up for a lot of moisture next week in the form of both rain and snow.
With temperatures warming to the 60s and 70s this weekend, it will get a lot of people outdoors and thinking more and more of outdoor activities. But with the weather coming next week, it will be a return to indoor activities.
I looked back over the past couple of years to check what lead to our snow storms in April and a lot of them had the same thing in common.
Cold air in Canada which is in and around Hudson Bay, drops south as low pressure in the northeast United States pushes it to the upper plains.
At the same time, low pressure moves in from the southwest U.S. and it brings moisture in from the Gulf of Mexico.
It leaves behind heavy rain and snow in the upper plains, including us in KELOLAND.
So if you’re doing any spring cleaning with the warm temperatures this weekend, don’t put away the shovel and snow blower, you’ll want to keep them handy for next week’s storm.
