Stormy Week Brings Rain To Areas Across KELOLAND

Weather

Strong storms in central South Dakota lined up and hit eastern KELOLAND with some significant rainfall. Many areas saw over 1 inch of rain.

Starting from the south and working our way north, a heavy band of 1 to 3 inches fell from near Armour down to Cherokee in northwest Iowa. But there were pockets of less rain like near Canton where less than a quarter inch was received.

Moving up to the northeast, they have had several days of rain and even some events had damage

Last night’s rainfall was heaviest in western Minnesota where over five inches of rain fell! But leading up to that bullseye of rain was a band of 3 to 4 inches of rain. Then in northcentral South Dakota, there were some pockets of over 3 inches of rain near Mobridge and Gettysburg.

This week has been a wet week for some parts of KELOLAND. As the parent low, responsible for all this rain, moves on, the weekend is expected to be drier and cooler.
