This picture sure tells the story today in KELOLAND. We’ll be tracking thunderstorms with some unwelcome downpours during the day.
Our FutureScan forecast shows areas of showers and thunderstorms moving east today, with the heaviest rain found in southeastern SD into portions of NW IA and SW MN. Local amounts could exceed 1″ with thunderstorms.
Here are some rainfall estimates on VIPIR predicted for the afternoon. Again, local amounts in the southeast will be amplified due to thunderstorm development.
Forecast highs today will be in the 40s and 50s. NW IA will be warmer in the lower 60s ahead of the rain in Spencer.
Rain chances will be lower tonight and amounts not as heavy. We expect lows in the 30s.
Tomorrow will feature leftover shower chances east during the morning, with instability showers possible during the afternoon as April sunshine splashes South Dakota.
The 7 day forecast looks much better with highs in the 70s by Saturday. Even the weather early next week looks very good!
