Happy Fourth of July!
Temperatures will be hot and it will be humid this afternoon.
Expect highs in the 80s and 90s with the hottest temperatures coming in from central and south central South Dakota. Winds will supply little relief with speeds of 5-15 miles per hour from a southerly direction.
Isolated showers and storms will be possible this evening and early tonight, but the chances are minimal at 20-30 percent. Many locations will remain dry. Overnight lows will fall to the middle 60s.
Tomorrow will be hot with widespread 90s likely and 100 degree heat possible. 100s may be found in central and western South Dakota. The heat will most likely last through Thursday with slightly cooler air working in for late in the week. Highs this weekend will be in the 80s for eastern KELOLAND, but 90s will remain in central and western South Dakota. Dry skies are in the forecast after this evening’s slight chance.
