It’s a cold day in KELOLAND. Headlines for blowing snow will be replaced with wind chill advisories later today. Wind chills will be -20 to -30 in much of eastern KELOLAND today and tonight.
Temperatures are expected to fall much of the day, even with some sunshine.
Tonight will be cold. Lows around -15 are forecast in Aberdeen and -2 in Pierre.
Tomorrow will be cold in the northeast with highs in the single digits. Rapid City will be much warmer. Also, we can’t rule out a few flurries or a burst of light snow.
Saturday will be similar to Friday, but more light snow is possible. Highs in Rapid City will be much warmer at 43.
Sunday also will warm ahead of the next clipper on Sunday. Keep in mind a belt of accumulating snow could affect parts of the east, but the exact tract is not certain yet.
There’s no shortage of cold weather next week. This will be some of the coldest air of the season by Tuesday and Wednesday.
So enjoy the warmer weather this weekend. It appears to be short-lived and more winter cold is ahead.
