Today looks like a very nice weather day across KELOLAND. Nobody will be complaining with these temperatures ahead!
However, the story begins to change tonight and tomorrow. Rain and snow chances will emerge in the west with gusty north winds developing. Sioux Falls will stay dry until tomorrow.
Here’s a closer look at the timeline on FutureScan. Notice the rain moves eastward, but falls apart tomorrow as it moves closer to the I-29 corridor. There will be snow in the far west and northwest as well, shown in blue.
Clouds and moisture chances will keep temperatures cooler. Sioux Falls will be near 55.
We are expecting the heaviest rainfall in NW South Dakota. Pierre could see over .50″ of rain. Notice the amounts are much less in the far east.
Don’t forget about some winter weather headlines in the Black Hills where a winter weather advisory goes into effect this evening for the snow.
A few spots in the higher elevations could get 6″. All of the snow will start melting tomorrow.
The 7 day looks very good. Wednesday will be warmer again and Thursday will feature a weak cold front with NW winds and spotty light showers. We anticipate a more significant warm-up this week with 70s looking quite possible in Sioux Falls!
