Storm Center Update- Friday AM, September 15th

Good Morning!

We have an active forecast ahead as we start the morning.  Here’s a look at the 12 hour forecast for Sioux Falls.

Late day storms could develop along and east of the James Valley.  If the storms develop, they could easily become severe.  That’s especially true the “slight” risk zone in yellow.

Sioux Falls will be much warmer compared to locations to the west.

Only 50 for a high today in Buffalo, but 90 is possible in Spencer, IA.

Rain chances will continue this evening and overnight.

More scattered rain is possible tomorrow, more likely East River.  In fact, another round of thunderstorms could fire in the afternoon NW IA and SW MN.  West River will be much cooler in the 50s again for highs.

We may be cooler, but snow in Montana and Wyoming will be a bigger story.  Over a foot is easily possible in the higher elevations.

We’ll see a rebound in temperature next week in Sioux Falls.  Another potent storm system will bring wind and rain to the region toward the end of the 7-day forecast.
