Preparing for severe weather season

The weather pattern over the central U.S. over the next several day is looking quite active. Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected with all types of severe weather including hail, wind, tornadoes, and flooding. Certainly a time to pay close attention to the forecasts. But what should you do when the thunderstorms begin? Long before the thunderstorms start, you should be ready for them.

That’s where having several sources for severe weather notifications is best.

The Storm Tracker app is a great start, but having a weather radio is a good foundation to have for severe weather notifications.

And this weekend, at the Hyvee on 26th and Marion, we’ll be having a Weather Radio programming day.

If you don’t have a weather radio, you can buy them and we’ll program it for you or if you already have a weather radio, you are welcome to come in and we’ll double check it to make sure it is ready to go.

So be here, at the Hyvee on 26th and Marion, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., we’ll be here ready to help you get ready for the upcoming severe weather season.
