KELOLAND has had a chilly and rainy week but those to our south have had a totally different experience.
Some areas are seeing severe weather including large hail, strong winds, and several dozen tornadoes. Some of them were strong enough to twist and snap power poles and destroy barns!
And the severe weather down south serves as an excellent reminder that now is the time to prepare for KELOLAND’s severe weather season. There are several tools available to you to use to keep you and your family safe.
For starters, just keeping up with the weather forecast either on air or on KELOLAND.com is the simplest and easiest first step. Just knowing when severe weather is coming is a huge help.
You can also use the Storm Tracker. When set up properly, it can notify you of severe weather in your area.
Another tool is a weather radio. This is a great tool because it’s like a slow cooker, you just set it and forget it and it will alert you when there is severe weather nearby. And the alert tone is quite loud.
So there you have it, three ways to help keep you informed when severe weather rumbles through KELOLAND.
