Maybe you’re like me and in the last week or so, you’ve been so focused on the pleasant temperatures that it just recently dawned on you that the sun has been staying up later and later in the day!
Last month, KELOLAND started with a little over 11 hours of sunlight but ended the month with about 12 hours and 45 minutes. So we’ve already gained about an hour and 45 minutes in the day.
And this month we’ll gain another hour and 15 minutes, bringing us to a little over 14 hours of sunlight!
That will translate to warmer weather as climate average highs climb 15 degrees from near 50 degrees to the mid-60s.
And all the plants and trees will really start to wake up which means we should start seeing more green around the area. I know I’ve already started to see little green buds poking out of the ground.
So even though we had snow pass through the area Monday and Monday night with even some leftover light snow in the northeast Tuesday morning, we should see that happen less as we put more distance between us and Old Man Winter.
