Losing Sunlight Across KELOLAND

The other night, it was a little before 10 p.m. and I realized… it was dark! Now I might be alone in this but I was just a little surprised since just a couple weeks ago, our Sioux Falls SkyCams showed at least some light in Sioux Falls.

Officially, June 22 is when we began to lose sunlight and we’ll keeping losing that sunshine until late December. But what is interesting is just how fast we are losing that sunlight right now.

July 1, we lost 40 seconds of daylight, and now, we are up to nearly two minutes of lost daylight each day.

So over the next month, we’ll lose over an hour of daylight since the sun is rising later and going back down earlier.

So if you’re a fan of the sun and warmth, get your fill now because as the daylight gets shorter, the temperatures will get colder.
