How Hurricane Florence Affects Our Weather Here In KELOLAND

What happens in other parts of the country or even around the globe can and does affect our weather here in KELOLAND. And we'll be keeping a close eye on the next big weather headline, Hurricane Florence.

So far, Florence has reached wind speeds of 100 mph and is in the middle of the Atlantic moving towards the US.

Latest computer models give two different outcomes for this storm. Either it will make landfall on the east coast and travel north up the coast or it will stay a few hundred miles off the east coast and not make landfall at all.

Meteorologists on the east coast will be closely watching how Florence plays out, but back here in KELOLAND, no matter which outcome verifies, we'll see the same thing, a stalled out weather pattern due to the blocking effects of hurricanes.

That means we can expect to see that weather pattern for a few extra days. And for now, projections bring in a pocket of warm, summer-like temperatures over the Rockies and the Midwest.

So if you are fan of summer-like weather, you are in luck. Because as of now, that kind of weather will return next week.
