A fresh coating of snow has left roads slippery this morning. A general 1-3" snow has fallen east of the James Valley and the wind will be increasing today, creating areas of blowing snow.
Expect top wind speeds over 30 mph over east of the James Valley. The strongest winds will be found in SW MN and NW IA.
Highs today will be this morning in the upper teens and low 20s in the southeast. We expect the numbers to fall much of the day with the stronger wind.
Tonight looks cold in the north and east, with subzero lows likely.
If you are a fan of warmer weather, tomorrow will be the best day for awhile. We expect a few 40s in the far west and south. Even 50s will be found in Nebraska, but the warmer weather will be short-lived.
Valentine's Day will be colder across KELOLAND. We expect highs in the teens and more wind from the north.
We still have plenty of cold weather ahead in the 7 day forecast. Some snow could brush through KELOLAND on Friday and another round is possible this weekend. We'll keep searching for something warmer!
