Storm Center Update – Sunday AM May 12

Forecast
Apr7PM_KELO_Yankton_Sunny

After a rainy Saturday, today is looking alright. We are expecting mostly to partly sunny skies across the area this afternoon with spotty, light showers in the east. Highs will reach the upper 50s to lower 60s, still a few degrees below normal for the middle of May.

Any showers that develop this afternoon will fade out once the sun goes down so we’ll only have leftover clouds tonight as temperatures cool to the 40s.

Strong warming will begin on Monday, with sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s in the east and upper 70s in the west. Some showers are possible in the northeast and thundershowers are possible around the Black Hills.

Tuesday will continue the warm weather. With a few clouds and some spotty thundershowers possible, highs will reach the 70s to near 80.

The rest of the week continues the highs in the 70s to mid 80s. The next round of organized rain looks to be next weekend.
