Overnight rain numbers are in and it's just more of the same...unwelcome moisture in spots that don't need it. Totals just south of Sioux Falls are heavier, well over 1" in parts of Lincoln County.
More rain will threaten western KELOLAND tonight with a flood watch in effect for counties shaded in green.
Here's our latest FutureScan forecast. You can see rain redeveloping in western SD later today and tonight. That rain will come out in pieces to the east on Tuesday into Tuesday night.
The rain outlook is certainly heavier in southern KELOLAND. Local amounts will exceed 2" in the red.
I think many of you are ready for a weather change. We see that coming when we look at the jet stream. A large area of low pressure in southeastern Canada will help move the core of the heat in the southern United States. We also see the western trough becoming weaker, all good news to slowing down the rain chances here.
You can see the warmer numbers on the maps below. Rain chances are not gone, but they are more "scattered" in nature across the plains.
For today, the numbers stay cool with the clouds and hits of rain.
Tomorrow will also feature rain chances, mainly in the south.
Keep your eyes set on the extended forecast. Much better weather is just around the corner.
