A warmer day is forecast for much of KELOLAND. We expect many spots in 70s today.
Will there by rain around tonight? We thing scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible with this weak disturbance from the northwest.
The forecast tonight includes about a 30% chance of thunderstorms for Pierre and Sioux Falls.
We’ll rebound tomorrow with highs back in the 70s and 80s.
We’ll keep the trend going into Wednesday with more 70s and 80s. Nice!
Thursday will be a little more challenging as a front moves in from the north. We still think southern KELOLAND will be plenty warm, but the north will be a few degrees cooler. A few pockets of isolated t-storms can’t be ruled out in this pattern.
Friday will more active as a developing storm system will move our direction. Clusters of thunderstorms could develop along both the warm front and cold front. Severe weather will also be possible in parts of the plains.
There will be ample heat and humidity for storms, especially for mid May levels across the central plains.
One trend to watch will be the rate of cooling at the end of the forecast. We’ve noticed a shift toward delaying the cooler weather a day or two. In the meantime, enjoy the warmer weather.
