Colder air coming into KELOLAND

We had two to three days of warm weather in KELOLAND.  But it’s coming to an end this weekend as much colder air comes in.

As it does, strong to severe weather will be possible before the cold air overtakes KELOLAND.

Taking a look at the record coldest highs for Sunday, May 19, many locations are in the 40s to near 50 degrees.  Brookings is one of the coldest spots at 38 degrees.  Sioux Falls record is 49 while Aberdeen is 50.  I think the areas that have the best chance to set records are in northern KELOLAND.

With the cold air in place, be aware of frost possibilities Sunday night into Monday morning.  That’s important for any plants you may have around your house or in your garden.

This cold air will last into next week too, with a better chance for accumulating snow in parts of western South Dakota.
