Summer does more than just turn off the lights in school classrooms. Research shows that many kids “turn off their brains” during the summer months. This is also known as the “summer slide”. The creator and director of the Reading Bridge program shares why it’s so important for your students to keep learning throughout the summer.
People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some, it’s a way to give something back to the community. It’s also a great way to meet new people and build connections. Representatives of Emerging Leaders stopped by the studio today to share how young professionals can get involved making a direct impact in KELOLAND.
We’ve probably all heard the phrase, “it don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got that swing”. The Augustana Northlanders Jazz Band is taking that adage literally by bringing the swing this weekend and they want you to come and join in on the fun. Members of the group tell KELOLAND Living why you should put on your dancing shoes and get ready to step back in time for this free event.
