WBK: SDSU Women Practice Ahead Of Friday’s Game

The SDSU women are just about 24 hours from tip-off in their first-round game.

The Jackrabbits have just wrapped up their practice for the day, but before they hit the court, SDSU players met with the media for the first time in Indiana. The Jacks are an eight-seed this season, which is the second-highest seed they’ve received. However, players and head coach Aaron Johnston are well aware that now the tournament’s here, seeds no longer matter.

“I do know a lot of them have got nothing but positive comments about, you know, the seed and really there’s not, you don’t get anything for that at this point, you know? It’s a neat thing, it says a lot about the year we had but we’ve got to be ready to play on Friday,” Johnston said.

“It was an honor to get an eight-seed but you know when you’re going into it, seeding doesn’t matter. Every team is just as good as we are. Villanova’s just as good as us and we’ve just got to go into it that we’ve just got to play our best and you know the outcome will show,” Macy Miller said.

The outcome the Jacks are hoping for is a win of course.
