STARKVILLE, Miss. - USD's women's basketball landed in Starkville, Mississippi this afternoon ahead of Friday's NCAA tournament game against Clemson, Keloland's Sean Bower is traveling with the team and joins us with more.
It's been a whirlwind of a week for the Coyotes as they make their second ever appearance in the NCAA women's basketball tournament.
On Monday, USD earned an at-large bid into the tournament and despite the selection show moving up due to the brackets leaking, still celebrated with fans in Vermillion. That celebration continued earlier today as fans lined the streets as the Coyotes bus made its way to Sioux Falls.
"It's been awesome. Today just proves again that we have some of the best fans in the country. Just with the send-off, the police escort, it was just a really cool environment to be a part of," Junior Forward Taylor Frederick said.
"Actually seeing the fans and the student body out there supporting us, I mean, you have classes with them. Seeing posters and all the paws, and all the signs that say Go Yotes. I mean, it's surreal to have a community that's so supporting," Junior Guard Madison McKeever said.
USD practices Thursday around 11:30. We'll have more with the Coyotes all day long as they prepare to take on Clemson on Friday.
