Sioux Falls Eliminated From Title Possibility At Little League World Series

Sioux Falls Little League saw its title chances come to an end on Saturday night, falling 4-3 to Walla Walla Valley Little League.

Rain delayed the start of the game one hour, but it didn’t slow down the Northwest Region champions out of Walla Walla, WA. The visitors on the scoreboard tallied three runs in the first inning, but Sioux Falls got one back off a solo home run by Marcus Phillips in the bottom half of the inning.

Ethan Bruns pitched a complete game for Sioux Falls. He settled down after the first inning, not allowing another run until the fifth. Bruns allowed four earned runs on seven hits, while striking out six.

Sioux Falls trailed by three heading into its final at-bat. Phillips delivered a two-run homerun to bring Sioux Falls within one, down 4-3. However, that’s as close as it’d get as Sioux Falls dropped to 0-2 at the Little League World Series.

Sioux Falls will play in Consolation Game B  on Tuesday morning at 10:00 CT on ESPN against Australia.
