Week one saw a close race between Tanner, Sean and Grant, but ultimately it was Grant earning the 10-6 record.
Sean and Tanner each earned a 7-9 record in week one. Tanner landed a couple of unique picks that got him a few points such as the Bengals, Dolphins and Raiders.
Grant created some separation as he was the only person to correctly pick the Eagles vs. Falcons and Cardinals vs. Titans.
There were three games that Tanner, Grant and Sean all picked the same team and that team would go on to win.
The 49ers win over the Lions, the Seahawks win over the Colts and the Rams win over the Bears all went the way of the KELOLAND Sports Team.
The no doubt pick had to be the Rams win over the Bears. All three were very confident in that pick and the Rams proved to be ready as they cruised past Chicago 34-14.
Just like there were three all winner games, there were also three games that saw a complete miss by Sean, Tanner and Grant.
The Steelers defeating the Bills, the Texans defeating the Jaguars and the Saints destroying the Packers left the Sports Team empty handed.
The Steelers suffocating defense was too much for Josh Allen and the lack of run game in Buffalo, while the Jaguars defense struggled to slow down Tyrod Taylor and the Texans.
Perhaps the most surprising outcome of the weekend was the Packers 38-3 loss to the Saints.
Every week, there is one specific game that leaves fans and spectators disappointed. The same can be said for the KELOLAND Sports Team as we had our share of tough breaks.
SEAN: The tough break for Sean had to be the Vikings overtime loss to the Bengals. Sean joined Grant in picking the Vikings, a 3.5 point favorite on the road, but a late Dalvin Cook fumble led to the Bengals winning the game 27-24.
TANNER: The tough break for Tanner is quite clear… the Cleveland Browns. Tanner went out on a limb and picked the Browns, who were 5.5 point underdogs at Kansas City. Cleveland grabbed an early lead and led until the 7 minute mark of the fourth quarter. The Browns even put together a late drive, but he was intercepted by Mike Hughes to end the game.
GRANT: Grant’s tough break has to be one of the weekend’s most exciting games as the Raiders upended the Ravens on Monday night. Grant was look at an impressive 11 win week, until the Raiders outscored the Ravens 23-10 in the fourth quarter and overtime to earn the 33-27 win. It appeared the Ravens would have an overtime chance to win, but a Lamar Jackson fumble led to a Raiders win.
