Augustana Women’s Tennis Earns #5 Seed

INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Committee has released its final NCAA Division II women’s tennis rankings of the 2017-18 academic year.

The Augustana women’s tennis team earned the fifth seed for the NCAA Central Regional Tournament and will play 4th-seeded Oklahoma Baptist in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on Saturday, April 28 at 1 p.m.  Northeastern State (Okla.) earned the top seed in the region and will await the Augie/OBU winner on Sunday, April 29 at 1 p.m.  The top two teams from each of the eight regions advance to the final site, which is played May 8-11 at Surprise Tennis Complex in Surprise, Arizona.

The Vikings earned the NSIC’s automatic qualifying bid after winning the NSIC tournament for the eighth consecutive season this past weekend. Augustana finished the regular season with a record of 21-3 (11-0 NSIC) and earned their ninth straight NSIC regular season title.

The Vikings will be making their ninth straight trip to the Central Region Tournament.
