The shoulder of a road can be a danger zone for emergency responders in South Dakota. A dash-cam video shows a car plowing into the back of a South Dakota highway patrol vehicle that had pulled over responding to a crash in Lincoln County.

A new soccer league in Sioux Falls, that provides an opportunity for kids who can’t afford to compete in organized sports, completed its first season Saturday. The league has had 60 to 75 kids come out to play every Saturday. They practice skills for about 45 minutes and then play scrimmage games against each another. Then the Boys and Girls Club serves an early lunch for the kids and parents.

The Country Apple Orchard in Harrisburg is wrapping up its first season under new ownership. Owners Greg & Katie Jones made a long list of improvements prior to opening in early September. Now, the orchard will celebrate Halloween with its final Fall Festival of the year.
