SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - A group of houses in a Sioux Falls historic neighborhood will not be coming down.
Owner Justin Johnson wanted to demolish the four properties at the corner of West 19th Street and South Dakota Avenue.
Tuesday night the Sioux Falls City Council voted down that plan.
Johnson's attorney says the homes are in disrepair and an eyesore.
The developer had sent renderings to the city, showing a new commercial development in the homes place.
Opponents, including the area's neighborhood association, said it will have an adverse impact on the historic neighborhood.
