RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO) — Nonstop, daily flights from Rapid City to Phoenix, Arizona will begin this fall and continue throughout the year. 

Rapid City Regional Airport announced on Thursday that American Airlines will be flying to their hub at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. 

  • PHX-> RAP Departs at 1:30 p.m. (local time) and arrives in Rapid City at 5:50 p.m. (MT). 
  • RAP -> PHX Departs Rapid City at 6:20 p.m. and arrives in Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. (local time). 

Airport officials say this move is good for tourism in the Black Hills.

“The daily, year-round flight to Sky Harbor will boost the business travel market as well as enhance our tourism travel throughout the entire year,” airport executive director Patrick Dame said.

This adds to the growing number of year-round and season destinations from Rapid City.
