Parade of Homes ready to showcase latest trends

Your Money Matters

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO)– On the market for a new home or looking to redesign? This weekend and next are your chance to see inside some the newest homes in Sioux Falls. We explored a Feature Home.

If you’re looking for some home inspiration, there are some unique features on display in the Parade of Homes this year.

This feature home on the tour is on the east side of Sioux Falls, and creeps over the million dollar price point. However, it comes with a lot of high end features.

“You can run macros where you can say ‘good morning,’ and it will turn on your TV to the weather to KELO and it will turn on the lights and those kinds of things so it’s pretty neat stuff,” said Christensen.

On top of the technology, this home has a lot of other unique touches. The sliding doors in the kitchen offer full open air living. And there is definitely plenty of room to lounge around in the in-home theater!

Even if you don’t have the seven figure budget, you can still get ideas.

“Whatever their budget is, whatever their need is. Their family, how many bedrooms. All that kind of stuff. We can tailor make it right to them,” said Christensen.

For the builders, these next two weekends are huge for their bottom line.

Sammi: “Do you get a lot of business from these weekends?”
Christensen: “Yeah, yeah. It’s definitely our best marketing tool as far as getting people to see our products. It might be two years down the road, but they’ve got our brochure,” said Christensen.

On top of the cash flow, it’s also a good way to get some feedback from the public.

“We put a lot of work into these things. I mean, countless hours. So we like showing off what we can do, and when you get somebody come in and go, wow I really like that! That’s the best part,” said Christensen.

The Parade of Homes will be this Saturday and Sunday, as well as next weekend. All homes are free to tour, except for the two Feature Homes which cost $5 to explore.
