Escape 605 Axe Throwing And Escape Rooms Are Opening Downtown Dec. 15

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Just in time for the holidays, there will be a new place to hang out with friends and family in downtown Sioux Falls.

Escape 605 Axe Throwing & Escape Rooms is opening to the public next week on Saturday, December 15.

It's in the former Ming Wah building along 10th Street.

In addition to throwing axes, there will also be a beer and wine bar.

The escape rooms, which will be Sioux Falls themed, will open early next year.

Co-owner Amy Stockberger says one will focus on the John Dillinger bank robbery in downtown Sioux Falls in 1934. The other will be a take on prohibition and Al Capone's visit to Sioux Falls.

"Even though we haven't opened yet, we've already had interest from a lot of people," Stockberger said.

The axe throwing will be open to anyone ages 8 to 108. This will be the third axe throwing venue to open in Sioux Falls within the past year.

"It's another recreational activity for people to do downtown. We love the vibe in the area and all of the redevelopment," Stockberger said.

Saturday's grand opening will be in conjunction with the World Axe Throwing Championship.
