A wine bar and restaurant is going into the former Prairie Berry East Bank space in downtown Sioux Falls.
Riccardo Tarabelsi plans to open R Wine Bar in the middle of October.
“I’m originally from Italy. There’s going to be an Italian-inspired wine selection, merchandise and food. It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Tarabelsi said.
In addition to wines from around the world and food, Tarabelsi also plans to sell local craft beer. He previously worked for Fernson Brewing Company.
Tarabelsi also is excited about all of the redevelopment nearby, including the plan for the old rail yard.
“East Bank is hot. I love downtown in general and that side of the river,” Tarabelsi said.
Prairie Berry East Bank, now known as Miner Brewing Co. and Prairie Berry Winery Taproom, is moving to the Western Mall.
