SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Some new exhibits opened in the Washington Pavilion Thursday all focused on one theme: South Dakota. The floor looks at the dinosaurs that once roamed the area and a quarry dig, plus your kids could even be featured as the fifth face of Mount Rushmore.
Pavilion CEO, Darrin Smith says when he got the job three years ago the science center needed some upgrading.
“Our science center, the exhibits had become tired. We were not changing to keep pace to meet the demands of the public and we had a lot of work to do and we put a pretty aggressive plan in place to give our entire science center a makeover,” Smith said.
The floor is sponsored by Avera. The project was more than two years in the making.
