According to a new Facebook update from crews, the Vineyard fire is now 55 percent contained.
This prompted fire officials to downgrade the fire from a Type 3 to a local Type 4 Tuedsay night around 6 p.m., which usually means all fire-fighting efforts are focused on local teams and that the incident is in the control phase.
In the last update, officials say the fire is burning 560 acres.
The area did receive some rain which crews say did help with the fighting efforts, however that does not mean the fire is out.
There are still hot spots throughout the area, especially under trees.
Crews will continue installing containment lines and mop-up the hot spots to prevent it from spreading.
At this time the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
