He called the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society home for more than seven months, but Spuds the dog is now adjusting to life in his forever home.

The shelter shared video of an excited Spuds heading to his new home on Facebook.

The 234 days spent by the terrier-mix lived at the shelter isn’t the longest stay for current animals. Another terrier-mix, Aries, has been at the shelter for 245 days. She’s now the shelter star as employees work to help her find a forever home.

Humane Society staff says from the updates they’ve received from Spuds’ new family, it sounds like he is doing really well in his new home.
