We have some updates for you on a big road construction project in east Sioux Falls.
One closure is Yeager Road, which runs parallel for a bit with Interstate 229. The road was closed Monday morning.
“We closed Yeager Road and the southbound ramps for Exit 5,” City of Sioux Falls engineer Joshua Peterson said. “We needed to do that because as part of the project we’ll be regrading and realigning Yeager Road, and also regrading and realigning those southbound ramps.”
Peterson says that will be closed through the construction season.
He described three other closures for us on Monday, including two temporary ones on 26th Street: one on Tuesday and the other on Thursday. The third will last longer- Southeastern Avenue from 26th Street to Klondike Trail. It’ll be closed “throughout the construction season,” Peterson said.
The second temporary one is set for Thursday, completely closing 26th from Southeastern to Frederick Drive, which is on the other side, the western side of interstate 229. A longer-term closure, for the season, will be on Southeastern Avenue from 26th Street to Klondike Trail.
