The cold temperatures will slowly leave this weekend as we return closer to average with central and western South Dakota returning above average. But the second half of the weekend will bring another round of accumulating snow.
The best chance for accumulating snow will be in northeast South Dakota. This is an area that’s seen the most snow this month.
Here’s where I’m at for my snowfall prediction. Aberdeen is getting dangerously close with being less than six inches away. Sioux Falls needs another 20 while Pierre and Rapid City are about 15 to 20 inches away.
After the snow chance on Sunday, a strong blast of cold air will come in for midweek. We’re talking some areas will have a hard time getting above zero.
The snow will help keep the blanket of cold across the area that will last into next month.
