Two Cats Die, No Injuries In House Fire Wednesday Night

It was a busy night for fire rescue in Sioux Falls.

Around 11 p.m. Wednesday, crews responded to a house in the south central part of the city. A fire was found in the basement.

Heavy smoke close to the ground made fire fighting efforts difficult. It took crews 30 minutes to knock down the flames.

By then it had moved from the basement to the first floor. The home was heavily damaged by smoke and fire.

No one was hurt, however two cats died.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
