Suspect In Sydney Loofe Disappearance Has Sioux Falls Connections

News

A Nebraska woman is missing, and the FBI believes a man with South Dakota ties may be involved in her disappearance.

51-year-old Aubrey Trail is in custody for questioning regarding the disappearance of 24-year-old Sydney Loofe. Bailey Boswell, a 23-year-old person of interest, is also being questioned.

Loofe has been missing since November 15.

Aubrey Trail is no stranger to the law.

“There is a Saline county warrant for Aubrey Trail for possession of a firearm while prohibited,” Lincoln Nebraska Chief of Police Jeffrey Bliemeister said.

The most recent crime he’s suspected in has the parents of Sydney Loofe begging for answers.

“Thank you for all of your prayers. In my opinion, someone knows something, so please do the right thing,”  Sydney’s father George Loofe said.

Trail is a convicted felon who served five years in the South Dakota Penitentiary for grand theft in Pennington County.

In 2006, he was arrested for writing a bad check in Yankton.

Two months later, Trail was arrested for the same thing in Minnehaha County.

In 2008… Lincoln County charged Trail for Insufficient Funds to a Check, and for being a habitual offender.

Trail and 24-year-old Bailey Boswell went to social media when they were named as persons of interest… saying they had nothing to do with Sydney’s disappearance.

“They have stated in their Facebook posts, and to the public, to all of you, that they were with Syndey in a very close proximity to the last time we know that where she was,” Bliemeister said.

And now they’re being questioned by authorities.

“We have located and are interacting with the two individuals that have been in the news related to this investigation. We are still seeking any and all information from anybody regarding their knowledge of where Sydney could be,” FBI Special Agent Randall Thysse said.

If you have any information regarding Syndey Loofe’s whereabouts, the FBI has a special hotline set up. You can call: 402-493-8688
