Sioux Falls street crews have a busy week in front of them.
After clearing roads following this recent snow alert, they’re now looking ahead to snow events Tuesday night and this weekend. Street Operations Manager Dustin Hansen says the crew has been working twelve-hour shifts since Saturday.
“The guys are used to it. I’m a newbie down here but most of the guys have been here five, ten, fifteen, twenty years. They’re kind of used to it but it does kind of drain on them. We just try to keep the spirits up. Give them a pat on the back and high fives just to keep them going,” Hansen said.
Hansen says there have been two snow alerts this year. On average, the City of Sioux Falls sees 5-6 snow alerts every year.
