Spinosaurus At Washington Pavilion Brought In From New York

News
KELO Pavillion Spinosaurus

The dinosaur at the Washington Pavilion we first showed you on Wednesday, didn’t just wander out of the prehistoric past by accident.

It turns out, the Pavilion’s Visual Arts Center brought the Spinosaurus all the way from New York to highlight the Pavilion’s scientific function in the community.

“It’s nice when people drive by here on Main now.  People know what we are, we’re a science center, when you put something out like that, it’s a head-turner,” Jason Folkerts with the Washington Pavilion said.

You may be wondering how the Pavilion decided on a Spinosaurus. The Pavilion surveyed third-graders who visited, and that’s the dinosaur they decided should go on permanent display.

The Pavilion is planning on holding a naming contest for her, later this fall.  The dino is made of sturdy fiberglass, but she doesn’t like people sitting on her.
