SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A store focusing on spices, herbs, and exotic teas is expanding to downtown Sioux Falls.
The Spice & Tea Exchange of Sioux Falls will open in June in the former Oh My Word location.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Based in Florida, The Spice & Tea Exchange has more than 67 locations in 30 states.
Tami and Vernon Brown are behind the Sioux Falls location.
Tami, a veteran Washington High School teacher, will leave her job at the end of the school year to run the store full time.
“They’re built out to look like a 18th Century spice and tea vendor,” Tami said in a news release. “The décor, the products and experience will be unlike anything in Sioux Falls.”
The company says its growth is being driven by the four in five U.S. consumers who drink tea, including 87 percent of Millennials, and the use of more natural spices in cooking.
The store will have a tea bar where you can choose from more than 40 exotic hot or iced teas. It will also carry 140 spices, naturally-flavored sugars and infused salts from around the world, along with more gourmet gifts and accessories.
