Smart home trend taking off in KELOLAND

SIOUX FALLS, S,D, (KELO)– Can you control your entire home with the touch of a button? New home technology worthy of the Jetson’s is being used right here in Sioux Falls!

Growing up, a lot of us dreamed of living like George, Jane, Judy and Elroy. While we don’t have flying cars just yet, we do have some futuristic options in the housing market!

The Shores on Lake Lorraine development is the latest project from Krumvieda Companies. Each home comes with high-tech features; including complete control over nearly everything with your phone.

“Like the shades on your windows, the lighting, your HVAC system, home audio, security. Any of those things can all be integrated into the same app which is very handy,” said Krumvieda.

This townhome is one of several being built by Aaron Krumvieda’s team, and each one is customizable for the buyer.

Everything from a refrigerator you can knock on to see inside, to a microwave built into a drawer is a feature to make your life easier.

“We even do things such as putting water bugs in cabinets, under sinks. Things like that so if somebody is gone and there would happen to be a leak that water bug will sense there is a leak and let them know by sending them a text or an email,” said Krumvieda.

Out in the garage, there are plugs and outlets for smart car charging. And if you really want to be eco-friendly, solar power is an option for the home! Krumvieda says the smart home trend is only going to get more impressive, and common in KELOLAND homes.

“I think we’re just at the beginning of it, both from an install perspective and also just what the technology can do. I think the integration and future things for the home can go a long ways and we haven’t even seen the beginning of it yet,” said Krumvieda.

The Shores on Lake Lorraine still has availabitly. Housing options range from $500,000 to more than $700,000, depending on location and features added on.
