The president and CEO of Sioux Steel Company plans to make an announcement Thursday on a large downtown Sioux Falls redevelopment project.
Sioux Steel is moving out of the downtown area and redeveloping the more than ten acres near Falls Park.
CEO Scott Rysdon has said that he feels there’s a better use for the area than manufacturing.
The company is rezoning the land into a public utilities district, which will allow for a mixed-use development. That could include housing, restaurants, retail, office and more.
The company has held public input meetings to find out what people would like to see on the land.
The announcement is Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
