A Roosevelt senior just won a special trip to the nation’s capital and a $10,000 scholarship.
Jack Brenneman landed one of the top two scores on the United States Senate Youth Program exam and will be headed to Washington, D.C., in March. While he’s there he will learn how the three branches of government work together and more.
“It was a challenging test so I studied and tried my best. I’m sure I missed plenty on it but it was pretty cool. I wasn’t sure it would be something that I could do. So it was pretty cool,” Brenneman said.
Brenneman and a Spearfish student will join Senators John Thune and Mike Rounds in representing South Dakota in the nation’s capital during the 57th annual Senate Youth Program Washington Week from March 2-9.
