Sioux Falls Man, Woman Arrested For Armed Robbery

A 19-year-old woman and 18-year-old man were arrested for an armed robbery. 

The robbery happened around 10:45 p.m. on Friday in a store on the 700 block of West 11th Street.  The man and woman tried to buy alcohol and the clerk refused to sell it to them because neither had any identification. The women left the store and as the man was leaving, he pulled a small handgun from his pants and pointed it at the clerk. The man stole some cigars on his way out the store.  The pair drove off in the same care. 

Nur Abdallahi Absiya, 18, was arrested on Wednesday by the Minnehaha County Warrant Task Force. Absiya is charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Aggravated Assault. The warrant carries a $100,000 cash bond.  

Sweet Gebrmedhin Gerbregiziabher, 19, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with Robbery 1st Degree and the warrant carried a $50,000 cash bond.

Surveillance video was used by detectives to identify both suspects and arrest warrants were issued on Tuesday. Detectives found the handgun used in the robbery had been stolen from an unlocked car.
