New details are emerging from a police search in Sioux Falls that allegedly involved guns, drugs and blocked off a part of downtown.
Police have made an arrest in the case, but the suspect is facing other charges involving a violent attack.
There was quite a crowd at Stadium Court on Thursday, but those in attendance were mostly police.
42-year-old Larry Wayne Moss was wanted for allegedly attacking his girlfriend on Sunday.
According to police, Moss allegedly pointed two pistols at his girlfriend and threatened to kill her during a heated argument.
“It looks like things cooled down, arguments started up again and that’s when he threw her down punched her, kicked her and strangled her,” Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens said.
The victim also told police Moss called her a snitch and stated that there were people who would “merc” her, which means kill her.
Our cameras went back to Stadium Court Friday and noticed a number of surveillance cameras on some of the trailers.
During their investigation — police say they learned Moss may have been committing other illegal crimes here.
“As the detectives were looking into it there was information he may have been dealing drugs and had some weapons in the different trailers,” Clemens said.
That prompted police and SWAT teams to close off the area.
“It’s more of a precautionary measure that they are brought in just to make sure that everybody is safe,” Clemens said.
Authorities have not said yet if any drugs or weapons were found in the trailers.
Moss is in custody on two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of simple Assault.
