SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls man has launched a peanut butter company.
Brandan Fokken is an international bodybuilder and in the fitness industry.
Fokken has noticed the growing interest in peanut butter and decided to create his own business.
He launched Fokken Nuts two weeks ago.
“On the first day, we sold $6,000 worth of peanut butter,” Fokken said.
In addition to the typical creamy and crunchy peanut butter, Fokken Nuts also sells unique flavors, including cookies and cream, brownie and cookie dough.
“Up next we’re going to launch dark chocolate sea salt almond and cashew white chocolate,” Fokken said.
Fokken comes up with design and markets the product. An Albany, New York, company makes it. Fokken says he chose the company because the products are all-natural, and it’s made in small batches.
“I think this will be a success because we’re really appealing to a broad group of people by offering flavored and non-flavored. I’m also trying unique marketing and reaching out to celebrities and influencers,” Fokken said.
Right now you can only buy the peanut butter online. Fokken hopes to have it in some stores in around three months.
