Arby’s and Feeding South Dakota are giving food to children who need it the most in KELOLAND.
“They are providing five free kids meals to 3,100 kids in Sioux Falls and an additional 1,600 punch cards to kids in Yankton, Watertown, Aberdeen, Brookings and Mitchell. We’re kind of going all over eastern South Dakota this year,” Allison Struck,” Feeding South Dakota said.
Arby’s provides punch cards to kids who rely on the BackPack Program for food assistance.
Each punch card gets a child five free meals at a participating Arby’s.
This is a part of the “School’s Out Food’s In” program.
“After hearing all the kids in the area that are not getting enough food to eat, it kind of opened my eyes to what we had going on here. You don’t think of the things like 3,100 kids not having not having enough food in our community alone,” Joe James, President and Chief Operating Officer at Arby’s, said.
4,700 kids were given punch cards during this summers campaign.
The punch cards are valid until August 31.
