SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — You can safely dispose of your sensitive papers during Saturday’s Document Shred Event. Bring your old bank statements, tax records and other documents to three drop-off sites: the Minnwest Bank at 5001 S. Louise, Washington High School and the Washington Pavilion parking lot. The hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Your $5 donation will go to Sioux Empire Crime Stoppers.
The Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls is hosting Party for the Planet in honor of Earth Day. There will be several fun activities for parents and kids to get them excited about nature from 1-4 p.m. The cost is a zoo admission, free for zoo members.
While you’re at the zoo, enjoy story time and an animal encounter during the Bookworms Reading Program at 1 p.m. in the KELOLAND Education Center.
The southern gospel group Ernie Haase & Signature Sound perform at Sioux Falls First Church. Doors open at 5 p.m. The concert is at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25.
There are still plenty of deals to be found during the final day of the Kingswood Rummage Sales. South Dakota’s largest organized rummage sale is taking place in the Kingswood neighborhood on the west side of Sioux Falls, off of west 41st Street. Some 350 homes are hosting sales.
The Harrisburg Parks & Recreation Board is hosting an Arbor Day Celebration at 11 a.m. at Liberty Elementary School. Activities include a tree planting demonstration, a seedling giveaway, a reading corner and a free lunch.
The Discovery Elementary Parent Teacher Organization is hosting a Spring Craft & Vendor Fair at the school from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 60 vendor booths will be open for shopping. All proceeds will go toward new playground equipment at Discovery.
The Storm indoor football team takes on the Arizona Rattlers at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. Kickoff is at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available at the KELOLAND Box Office.
