Months after they demolished their McKennan Park home, its former owners are suing their insurance company.
The Sapienzas have filed a lawsuit against Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Company.
According to court documents, the Sapienzas are accusing the company of breach of contract for not properly representing them in court which they claim led to the demolition of their home.
They’re also alleging the company is wrongly refusing to pay damages awarded against the Sapienzas.
Court papers show the Sapienzas paid more than 60-thousand dollars to tear down their home in May.
A judge ordered them to do so after their neighbors sued them for violating historic code in the neighborhood, and building their house too close.
