South Dakota investigators say a state trooper was justified in shooting a man along Interstate 29.
It all started with a phone call to Vermillion police on September 16. Someone was worried about their roommate.
Authorities went to the home and the man took off, leading to a chase.
The Highway Patrol eventually caught up with him on the interstate.
Investigators say the man refused to stay in his car; instead, he approached the trooper and pushed him down and fought with him.
State investigators say the trooper feared for his life.
