Parks employees in Rapid City are checking over play equipment following the discovery of a razor blade on a slide.
The city says a citizen alerted employees at Thomson Park to the razor blade on Wednesday, July 25. The workers removed the object and crews searched all playgrounds in the 34 city parks to check equipment. Nothing else was found.
The city says employees have been checking play areas daily for sharp objects. While it is believed to be an isolated incident, the public is asked to be vigilant and report anything suspicious to the Rapid City Police Department.
